Frequently Asked Question

  • At what age can my puppy attend?

As soon as possible because your puppy needs lots of socialisation early on. Ideally, your puppy will already be attending classes before 16 weeks.
You can attend as soon as your puppy has had their first vaccination, as our training hall is disinfected regularly.

  • Can my family and friends attend training with me?

Yes, absolutely. You can attend as a family but we are only able to accommodate for 4 people per puppy. Children are welcome, please get them involved in the training but please ensure you stay in your designated area, so you do not disturb the other puppies.

  • Will this course stop my puppy from biting and having accidents in the house?

Yes, it will! This course will show you how to train your puppy and create a brilliant relationship with them. Our training plans are based around teaching you, the owner and then you can practice with your puppy in between classes.

  • I’m feeling quite overwhelmed by puppy ownership, can you help me?

Our trainers are experts in their fields. They are friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. You will be offered support and guidance in your class and on our online hub, My Dog Hub.

We know that aspects of bringing a new puppy home can be a real shock to the system and we are here to guide you from puppy, through teenage hood to the perfect adult dog.

  • What do I get with the puppy training course?

This course involves six in-person classes with an expert puppy trainer to help you have the perfect puppy.

The trainer will show you how to start building a bond with your puppy and how puppies learn.

You will also receive access to our dog hub. This online resource contains a brilliant resource called A Dog Trainers Puppy Diary, where we show you what our trainers do with their own puppies for the first six months—all laid out week by week! Your lesson plans are also stored here, and you can access the centre’s dog trainers 24/7 via direct messages and chat.

  • What do I need to bring?

Flat collar, harness or head collar and lead. Please don’t bring extender leads, slip leads or choke chains.

Good quality treats such as cheese, JR pate, chicken or other soft meaty treats – not their normal kibble. Treats can be purchased at the centre or by visiting www.naturalchoicepetfoods.co.uk where you can use the ‘pick up’ option at the checkout so they’re ready to collect before your session.

Poo bags – Just in case!

    Small blanket/bed

Favourite toy/tuggy & a filled Kong – your puppy will need something to keep them busy when your trainer is explaining the exercises!

Please make sure you wear suitable clothes and shoes for these sessions, pockets or a treat bag (treat bags also available at the centre) are essential.

Please feel free to bring your own water and your dog’s water bowl unless you are happy for your dog to use the shared communal bowls.
