Puppy Socialisation Classes

Join our puppy socialisation class: A foundation for confidence and playful learning

Class Overview

Welcome to our Puppy Socialisation Classes

Our structured Puppy Social sessions are based on fun, reward-based play on different surfaces, meeting new people, meeting other puppies, and an introduction to different and unexpected sounds.

You will learn how to help your puppy become more confident in new scenarios and how to teach it manners when playing. There is a question and answer section towards the end of your session to give you a chance to speak to the trainer about anything you need help with. This brilliant group session works perfectly either before or alongside your puppy class.

What your dog will learn

Teach your dog lifelong skills

Here are just a few of the skills we will help you teach your dog.

Sit and Stay on Command

Teaching your puppy to sit and stay is essential for good behaviour. We'll show you effective methods to ensure your pup can follow these commands reliably.

Play Nicely with Other Dogs

Proper socialisation includes learning to interact gently and respectfully with other dogs. Our classes focus on positive play and communication skills.

Potty Training Basics

Accidents happen, but with our guidance, your puppy will learn the cues and routines for successful potty training, both indoors and outdoors.

Overcome Fear and Anxiety

Exposure to new environments and stimuli helps reduce fear and anxiety. Our structured exercises build your puppy's confidence and comfort in various situations.

Respond to Name and Focus on You

A key aspect of training is getting your puppy to respond to their name and maintain focus on you. Our sessions incorporate fun games to reinforce this behaviour.

Gentle Handling and Grooming

Teaching your puppy to tolerate handling and grooming is crucial for their well-being. We cover techniques to make these experiences stress-free for both of you.

Have a question in mind?

Frequently Asked Question

  • Can my puppy join before receiving vaccinations?

You can bring your puppy after they’ve had their first vaccinations. It is important that you pick up your puppy and carry them to the training hall where they can then be put on the training hall floor. Our training hall floor is cleaned regularly, however, bringing your puppy before both vaccinations and putting them on the floor is entirely your choice.

  • Can more than one person come?

We can allow up to a maximum of 4 people per puppy, this includes children. Please ensure children are accompanied by an adult at all times.

  • I have 2 puppies, can they both come?

Yes, you can book more than 1 puppy. Please be aware that each booking is for 1 puppy.

  • What do I need to bring?

Flat collar, harness or head collar and lead. Please don’t bring extender leads, slip leads or choke chains.

Good quality treats such as cheese, JR pate, chicken or other soft meaty treats – not their normal kibble. Treats can be purchased at the centre or by visiting www.naturalchoicepetfoods.co.uk where you can use the ‘pick up’ option at the checkout so they’re ready to collect before your session.

Poo bags – Just in case!

    Small blanket/bed

Favourite toy/tuggy & a filled Kong – your puppy will need something to keep them busy when your trainer is explaining the exercises!

Please make sure you wear suitable clothes and shoes for these sessions, pockets or a treat bag (treat bags also available at the centre) are essential.

Please feel free to bring your own water and your dog’s water bowl unless you are happy for your dog to use the shared communal bowls.

  • Where do I meet my trainer?

After you arrive, please head to our reception/shop and let a member of our team know you’re here. There are benches out the front where you can wait or you can browse the shop and your trainer will find you.
